Strategic Energy Efficiency Policy
As part of the Queensland Government Strategic Energy Efficiency Policy to reduce energy consumption and increase energy efficiency in Queensland Government buildings, a Strategic Energy Management Plan has now been developed by the Queensland Government Accommodation Office (QGAO) for implementation across all properties under the control of the Department of Public Works. Within the plan QGAO has indicated measures and strategies to achieve the mandated reduction targets.

The energy conservation manual (core departments)
The energy conservation manual provides operational information about energy conservation management practices and is an integral element of the staff awareness initiative known as the 'Switch Off Program'.

Heritage Building Conservation
Building Division's Built Environment Research Unit provides advice to government and agencies on the conservation of government built assets with cultural heritage value. Building Division's Strategic Asset Management (SAM) Guidelines contain a Heritage Management Guideline that provides specific advice on managing assets to conserve their heritage value. Advice related to heritage surveys of agency portfolios has also been provided.
